Ten of 300 Helisoma sp. snails were successfully infected with Clinostomum marginatum eggs from adult trematodes taken from the mouth and pharynx of a Great Blue Heron. These snails were used to produce experimental infections in fingerling largemouth bass. The resulting infections ranged from Oto 249 grubs per fish (mean= 40.4, median= 25). Encysted grubs were found most often and in the greatest numbers in muscular tissue. Visceral tissue was less often infected and rarely contained more than one or two grubs. No correlations or trends could be found which related the total number of parasites, or the numbers in 15 body subdivisions to the length, weight, K, Wr, mortality rate, CTM, temperature-shock tolerance and hypoxia tolerance of the fish.
