dc.description.abstract | This article presents a synthesis of recent literature on professionalism in student affairs. Attention is given to the nature of professionalism, a discussion of student affairs as a profession, the scholarly practice of student affairs, and professional development in student affairs. The authors note that an assumption of professionalism pervades all activities in the field of student affairs, especially staffing and personnel matters. Implications are noted for individuals and organizations. | |
