It opens with a brief history of the fairy tale genre and the foundation of the Western fairy tale canon. I will primarily analyze The Walt Disney Company’s recent films, Brave, Frozen, The Princess and the Frog and Tangled as well as Emma Donoghue’s short fiction collection, Kissing the Witch and several tales from the feminist anthology Don’t Bet on the Prince, compiled by Jack Zipes.
