Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/5627The purpose of my thesis is to examine the importance of characterization in fiction, as well as the methods of characterization itself. The scope of the paper will be primarily limited to three works of fiction: J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicles, and Andre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo. The methods employed throughout the thesis will be literary analysis, theory, and criticism. These will be used to show that characterization and its importance in literature can be thoroughly explained.Text49 pages1 file (.pdf)enliterary analysisfictioncharacterizationHonors CollegeCharacterization in fiction
