Texas State University-San Marcos, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/4909Patient responses to the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) for 2005, 2006, and 2007 were analyzed to determine if a pattern of responses correlated with overall acute care hospital ratings. Although a statistically significant difference was noted between major teaching hospitals, minor teaching hospitals, and non-teaching hospitals, there was no practical significance observed when other variables were added.
