A convenience sample was used in order to determine whether Ruby Payne’s (2006), A Framework for Understanding Poverty, is consistent with income. Participants in the sample responded to a survey based on their perceptions of their daily lives utilizing Payne’s (2006) behavioral dimensions. The implications of these findings are profound for recognizing Payne’s (2006) framework as alternative measures of poverty.
