As a result, first-gen students faced many challenges in their academic and personal lives. In response, the First-Gen Proud committee sought to understand those obstacles to identify immediate and long-term solutions for first-gen students. The committee decided to conduct an assessment to evaluate how our undergraduate first-gen students were experiencing the unanticipated and rapid move to remote learning.
