The normative literature review derives from traditional civil-military relations literature that also provides background for the conceptual framework. The conceptual framework consists of five descriptive categories: civil-military problematic, civilian control, military professionalism, institutional structures, and challenges. These categories are used for the content analysis of the applied research project. The study uses content analysis of the articles on civil-military relations in Turkey.
