Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/5548Do visualization and guided imagery enhance an athlete's performance? If so, how does this performance compare to that of an athlete who does not practice visualization and guided imagery? Past studies have shown proof of sports visualization exercises being beneficial to performance in sports. Though there is proof in these studies of positive effects, it is still not a common method implemented among athletes in training. Could this be because the effects are not reliable or valid? If the exercises are reliable, why are they not being implemented more among athletes? The purpose of this study is to provide more support that guided imagery and visualization are effective when used as a method to enhance sporting performance.Text48 pages1 file (.pdf)enImageryVisualizationPerformanceSports--Psychological aspectsExercise--Psychological aspectsImagery (Psychology)The Effects of Visualization and Guided Imagery in Sports PerformanceThesis
