Research Enhancement Program, Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/2886Research Enhancement Program Final ReportThe stated goal of the proposal, to create a site-specific sculptural installation titled Genius Loci: Villa, was successfully accomplished. The PI created the sculpture from thousands of individual plant specimens that were cast into bronze with the assistance of 3 students using a unique method developed for this project. The bronze elements were permanently assembled into a matrix according to specific design strategies that underlie the architectural plans of the museum building for which the work was created. The artwork is a geographic portrait that hybridizes the essential qualities of both the architecture and the landscape of the Laguna Gloria site. It is currently installed at Austin Museum of Art.Text1 page1 file (.pdf)enartsculpturebronze castLaguna GloriaGenius Loci: The Spirit of PlaceReport
