Intimate partner violence in the Latinx community: Risk factors, barriers to care, treatments and prevention (Unpublished thesis). Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/15967When looking at the high rates of intimate partner violence in the Latinx community, it is important to consider the underlying factors that contribute to its occurrence and can act as barriers to care. Factors such as culture and context are essential to understanding behaviors and attitudes towards intimate partner violence and how they can influence the individual and community responses to intimate partner violence. Furthermore, knowledge about the factors involved with intimate partner violence in the Latinx community will also help us better understand the barriers to care that prevent Latina women from seeking and getting help. Overall, further understanding of the underlying factors at play in the perpetuation of intimate partner violence in the Latinx community will aid in the development of culturally competent treatments and prevention programs.Text29 pages1 file (.pdf)enLatinxintimate partner violencedomestic violenceculturally competent treatmentsLatinasHispanicHonors CollegeIntimate Partner Violence in the Latinx Community: Risk Factors, Barriers to Care, Treatments and Prevention
