Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/16707The present study focuses on how legacy building activities aid or inhibit grief processing in bereaved parents. 10 parents participated in semi-structured interviews to answer questions about the death of their child, personal grief, legacy building interventions, and suggestions for practitioners conducting legacy building. Interviews were transcribed, and themes from responses were coded and aggregated. These scores were analyzed to look for common variables across participants, experiences, and suggestions. As expected, findings showed more benefits of legacy building than risks. Additionally, legacy building items proved to provide emotional comfort among other positive benefits.
