Texas State University-San Marcos, San Marcos, Texas.https://hdl.handle.net/10877/11966The effects o f abiotic variables on the growth o f white bass Morone chrysops were examined using twelve years o f growth data from Canyon Reservoir, Texas. Air temperature had the greatest influence on growth. Air temperature influenced growth of adults and juveniles in inverse ways. Age 1 white bass displayed a positive relationship with September air temperatures while age 2 to 4 bass were negatively influenced by August air temperatures. Air temperatures in August, above 27° C, caused growth to drop in age 2 to 4 bass. With atmospheric temperatures warming, thermal tolerances could significantly inhibit growth of this species in these subtropical ecosystems.Text32 pages1 file (.pdf)enbassesfishesCanyon Lakeabiotic factorsbass growthInfluence of Abiotic Factors on White Bass Growth in a Subtropical Texas ReservoirThesis
