We live in a world where working full time or even part time is necessary to survive. Every job position comes with its own challenges: Some more serious than the others. Facing challenges in the workplace creates a lot of stress for employees, and when stress is high enough, it eventually leads to mistakes. Mistakes are more serious than others for some industries, but mistakes in healthcare industries can lead to serious injury or death. For this research, pharmacy employees working in a small, independent pharmacy were studied to understand their challenges and gaps of their workflow. This research discusses job related stress and how other industries deal with it. This thesis will evaluate common types of mediums and training content provided to employees, in order to understand which is the most suitable medium and type of training for independent pharmacy technicians. The outcomes of this research were tested with employees of an independent pharmacy—located in Austin, Texas. This testing was then used for the purpose of validation and data. 100% of tested technicians indicated that after completing the training modules designed in this research, on a scale of 1 to 10 they felt above average prepared to fill the prescriptions than they did before the training. 80% of technicians felt the reduction in job related stress and the productivity level was increased by 60% after using proposed training system.
