The purpose of this study was to find the source of evil founded in the characters of Ramón del Valle-Inclán novel Tirano Banderas. Based on the aesthetics of philosophical and religious views coming from La Lámpara Maravillosa essay by the same author. We have used Valle-Inclán’s aesthetic to justify the existence of figures like tyrants in Latin America but more specifically the ones coming out from México. Our study is based on one element called the circularity of time as a fundamental core coming from La Lámpara Maravillosa. By offering a way of interpreting the historical time of a society, life of a character and its relation with the environment, we found that everything is directly linked to the structure of Tirano Banderas novel. We incorporated in retrospective the story of characters from the Mexican national life during the revolution in the twentieth century like, Francisco I. Madero who shared his vision of a better society and fought for it during his life against Porfirio Díaz dictatorship or tyranny. Nevertheless the character found in Tirano Banderas named Don Roque Cepeda, is closely related to Madero’s figure, which cared for social justice reflecting Valle-Inclán’s religious, philosophical and political points view. We went back to pre Hispanic times of Mexican culture, where we found one characteristic pattern based on betrayal, jealousy and selfishness; elements founded specific characteristics on rulers and tyrants. Mythical and historical figures of Mexican society, share the same behavior founded in Tirano Bnaderas, where the sordid events match the grotesque reality changing the Mexican course of history and its rulers forever.
