Abstract

This Powerpoint presentation demonstrates useful tools for writing research papers (20+ pages). One of the tools (Step notebook) helps to transform a writing assignment into a project, that is then managed. This makes the process less overwhelming. In addition, the integrated outline is introduced. The integrated outline incorporated the relevant references and is completed before the writing is begun. It also links up with the project management insights of the notebook. Many ideas for this presentation were derived from 40 years of working with students on large empirical projects and the works of John Dewey, particularly Logic the Theory of Inquiry.
