The internet is as vast and influential as it has ever been. As of April 2009, there are over 230 million website online, an increase of 60 million from the same time last year. In the last year alone, 1.5 billion people logged on to the internet. Of those, over 240 million reside in English-speaking countries. There should be a dearth of websites on every subject imaginable. For a subject such as Economics, the most popular major at Harvard, there should be an especially large number of resources online for students interested in taking economics. So then exactly how many websites allow users to create their own Economics study guides or online quizzes? Zero. That is what aims to change. It is worth noting that "zero" is a surprising figure, but also a bit alarmist. There are indeed online resources for economics students, glossaries, study guides, and quizzes too. However, rarely are these items all together on the same site, and never are they customizable by the user. In this day and age of Web 2.0, that is, interactivity between the user and web-delivered content, an online resource like is long overdue. Still in its infancy, aims to give users control over their Economics education on the web. will provide definitions whose complexity varies based on the user's preference. The definitions are only the start, though. Users will be able to tailor study guides and online quizzes to their exact needs. Economics-related News, Podcasts, and Forum Interaction will also be available. This thesis will examine how went from an idea to the first Web 2.0 student resource on Economics.
