The purpose of this qualitative study was to acquire a semester-long perspective of the experiences of four eighth-grade students on one middle school campus in the Southwest School District in Texas. Information was collected and analyzed to explore the following question: What are middle school students' perceptions of parent involvement? This research was designed around case studies-that is, "stories"-to provide an account of the social and academic lives of the student participants. Also providing a clearer picture of students' feelings, concerns, and perspectives is done with the hope of strengthening the bond between parents and students. Focusing on students' perceptions regarding their achievement motivation highlighted specific target areas in which parents and members of the school community may enhance academic achievement of students. This research study was designed to make a substantial contribution to the literary work in the areas of sharing middle school students' perspectives related to parent involvement and the lives of adolescents in general.
