dc.description.abstract | Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune condition that impacts the pancreas ability to secrete insulin, which is needed to regulate blood sugar levels. T1D is complicated to manage since various factors, such as nutritional consumption, physical activity, and amount of insulin administered can impact an individual’s ability to maintain their blood sugar in an appropriate range. In recent years, technologies such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and mobile applications have been widely adopted to assist with blood sugar regulation. Feedback on T1D medical supplies is necessary as diabetes technology continuously evolves to improve T1D management. However, data are limited regarding college students with T1D’ perspectives on how diabetes technology should be improved to assist with their management. The purpose of this study was to explore recommendations from college students living with T1D on how to improve diabetes technologies for better blood sugar regulation. | |
